Jiřina Tauchmanová
Jiřina Tauchmanová, a renowned fashion designer, is expanding her artistic portfolio with the creation of decorative and utility glass. In her studio, she transforms aesthetic sensibilities from the field of fashion into permanent objects, such as designer bowls, candlesticks, and glass paintings, which are created using the demanding technique of glass laying.
The author’s path to the glass craft led through a lifelong fascination with costume jewelry, which gradually led her to the need to create works with a deeper material essence. The entire creation process – from the initial sketch and preparation of the form to the final melting and refinement – comes exclusively from her hands, and she sees glass as an ideal medium for the materialization of emotions and beauty. Her philosophy is based on respect for natural elements, when simple grains of quartz are transformed into a noble, light-catching substance in the heat of the furnace.
A visit to the studio offers a unique aesthetic experience and a view of a diverse range of works, from small glass objects to monumental interior paintings. Here, visitors can follow the fascinating "story of glass", which begins in the depths of the earth and ends with a fragile, yet immortal art form. The presentation of the work is accompanied by a poetic insight into the melting process, thanks to which you will understand how the pliable hot mass turns into a divinely beautiful and transparent artifact.
