Jiřina Tauchmanová
Throughout her career as a fashion designer, Jiřina Tauchmanová has encountered glass in the form of costume jewelry and fine jewelry. She gradually fell in love with glass and began to feel the need to create things of lasting value. That is why, in recent years, she has also been creating decorative and functional objects such as bowls, trays, plates, candlesticks, and paintings using the glass laying technique. From the initial idea, design, and form to the final refinement, everything comes from her hands. She loves the feeling when an idea or just a thought comes to her and she can turn it into a work of art. She sees glass as a medium for spreading beauty and joy. Visitors to the studio will see original glass works ranging from small pieces to large paintings.
Visitors will see the story of glass, which begins in the depths of the earth. Quartz grains, tiny and inconspicuous, lying for millennia in the arms of nature, are silent witnesses of time until the moment of transformation arrives. In the heat of the furnaces, the sand combines with soda and lime, and where the stone would crumble, a flowing river of fire is born - clear, molten, and pliable like hot honey. This creates a substance that is neither solid nor liquid. It is captured light, the transparent skin of the earth, a window to eternity. Glass—once smooth and flat, then shaped, bent, fragile, yet immortal, simply divinely beautiful.
