UMYO GLASS
In Sezemice, close to Křišťálové údolí (Crystal Valley) and the birthplace of the legendary Stanislav Libenský, there is a studio called Umyo, which specializes in the production of luxury utility items using the technique of molten plastic. The studio's portfolio includes unique glass washbasins, containers, and decorative frames, combining traditional glassmaking techniques with modern design. Each item is conceived as a unique artistic artifact that brings a story of craftsmanship and a deep passion for the noble material of glass to the interior.
The studio's expert pillar is Eva Nováková, a graduate of the Faculty of Art and Design at the University of Jan Evangelista Purkyně, whose work is influenced by prestigious art residencies in Japan, the USA, and Australia. Her eye for detail and innovative approach is complemented by Jan Zuska, who, thanks to his technical background and project management skills, ensures the precise realization of even the most demanding visions. Together, they have built the studio as an open community space whose philosophy transcends the boundaries of traditional production and aims to support artistic exchange and international cooperation.
Studio Umyo offers visitors much more than just a glimpse into a glass workshop; it is a lively meeting place with a rich background for the whole family. Accompanied by a cup of coffee from the local drink point, guests can watch the fascinating process of creating molten sculptures, participate in professional workshops, or be inspired by works created during residencies. The complex also features a children's playground, a themed geocaching stop, and a peaceful seating area by the pond, making a visit to the studio a comprehensive experience that combines cutting-edge art with relaxation in a picturesque setting.
