Filip Lukavec
Young glass artist Filip Lukavec, representative of the upcoming generation of Nový Bor artists, devotes himself to the precise design of cut glass in his studio. Since 2015, when he began his studies at the prestigious glassmaking school in Kamenický Šenov, he has focused on combining classic cutting techniques with bold original concepts that push the boundaries of perception of this traditional craft.
The philosophy behind his work was born out of a deep fascination with the "magic of the cutting workshop," which completely overshadowed his theoretical studies and led him to establish his own creative base in the heart of the glassmaking region. In his workshop, the artist specializes not only in demanding cutting, but also experiments with the technique of melting glass into molds. His work reflects the dynamic process of finding a balance between raw material and fine detail, resulting in objects of high aesthetic and collectible value.
A visit to the Nový Bor studio offers a unique insight into the creative process, where grinding wheels are transformed into tools of artistic expression right before the eyes of visitors.
