Crystal Temple
Glass as a noble material has been appearing in churches, basilicas and cathedrals for centuries, when the rays of the sun pass through the stained glass windows and through thousands of small shards enter the spiritual space that was once created by the thoughts and visions of rulers, the art of their architects and the hands of skilful builders...
The Crystal Temple is a project of a permanent exhibition of the artistic glassmaker Jiří Pačink and his sons in the premises of the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross from 1833. The exhibition combines the beauty of the ancient sacred space and masterpieces of art. The exhibition itself includes a wide range of styles and themes.
Some of the works on display have a deep charge of religious themes, while others focus more on human nature and existential themes. Each work is carefully positioned to evoke the strongest possible impression and to be shared with the viewer as much as possible. Another interesting feature of this exhibition is the fact that some of the artworks were created specifically for this particular area of the church.
If you are an art lover or just looking for inspiration and beauty in historical spaces, this exhibition at the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross is the perfect place for you to visit. Enjoy a stroll through these beautiful sacred spaces and let yourself be carried away by the artistic treasures you will find here.
Admission is voluntary and goes towards the gradual restoration of the church and the running of the society.
