Svojkov Glassworks, Jiří Haidl
The studio specializes in the precise production of replicas of historical glass, which are created on the basis of detailed archaeological research and preserved sources. The portfolio includes a wide range of works, from ancient Roman vessels to medieval Gothic goblets and decorative Renaissance cups, each piece celebrating the ancient art of glassmaking.
The philosophy of the glassworks is based on deep humility towards the work of our ancestors, who managed to create fascinating glass artifacts under conditions that are now shrouded in mystery. The glassmakers at the furnace faithfully replicate the technological processes and glass composition of the period, reviving the tradition of so-called forest glass and unique objects that once adorned the tables of rulers.
A visit to the glassworks will take you back through the centuries, where you will see Viking vessels and glassware known from historical films and fairy tales being created in the glow of the fire. In an authentic setting, you can admire the mastery with which raw material is transformed into the fragile beauty of the past and take home a piece of history that carries the spirit of old times and honest craftsmanship.
