The production of Christmas tree decorations from glass is closely linked to the then new fashion of the 19th century. Namely to decorate Christmas trees with the glass beauty. To this day, traditional blown spheres, as well as dozens of other shapes, are made in Crystal Valley. The variety of colors and shapes adorns the trees of the most demanding customers, but also the ordinary households of millions of people around the world. Glass beads have been blown in our mountains for over 150 years. In the small village of Poniklá in the Giant Mountains, we find workshops from the Rautis company. Their unique way of making beaded Christmas decorations, according to ancient customs, is listed on UNESCO's Representative List of Living Traditions.
