Even Bridget Jones drinks from a glass of KLIMCHI
Czech glass from the Crystal Valley in a world film!
The iconic hobnail jug of the Czech brand KLIMCHI has appeared on the movie screen again, this time in the latest sequel to the popular Bridget Jones series. The light green jug from the workshop of Czech glassmakers from Kamenický Šenov decorates the home of the main character in the long-awaited film Bridget Jones.
Czech glass is becoming an increasingly popular item for Hollywood film designers. After the success of Barbie the year before last, KLIMCHI products are now appearing in the home of one of the most popular film heroines. The Hobnail pitcher in Light Green, which is part of the brand's popular collection, can be seen in several shots in Bridget Jones' kitchen.
"It's fascinating to see how film designers have found their own way to our glass. We're seeing more enquiries and orders from production studios on our e-shop. However, we only found out about our jug appearing in the sequel to the Bridget Jones franchise through alerts from our followers abroad on Instagram. It is another proof that Czech glass art has its irreplaceable place even in the highest levels of world cinema," says Lukáš Klimčák, founder and director of the brand. He adds that he is also very happy that the creators of the film interior chose glass themselves, which is proof that the brand is already a well-known name abroad after five years of existence.
Film designers Penny Crawford and Peter Lee paid particular attention to the interior furnishings in the film. "We spent hours searching for authentic objects that would perfectly capture the personalities of the main characters," Crawford tells Livingetc. It was stumbled upon by production team member Tom Rea, who was recommended KLIMCHI glassware by colleagues. The light green hobnail KLIMCHI jug thus became a natural part of the home, combining the characteristic features of both Bridget and Darcy.
