The Museum of Glass and Costume Jewelry in Jablonec nad Nisou is changing its name
The museum is changing its name!
This week, on March 10, 2026, the Minister of Culture signed a significant amendment to the charter of the Museum of Glass and Costume Jewelry in Jablonec nad Nisou.
From this moment on, the museum has a new name— State Museum of Glass and Costume Jewelry in Jablonec nad Nisou.
Although the museum has had nationwide jurisdiction in the field of costume jewelry and glass for more than 50 years and has been a state museum (established by the Ministry of Culture) since 2003, this fact had not yet appeared in the museum’s name.
An eight-year-long dream has thus come true for the museum. Congratulations!
What does this mean?
The new name clearly declares that the museum is the only state-established museum dedicated to these fields. For both domestic and international partners in the museum, manufacturing, scientific research, and artistic sectors, it serves as a guarantee that they are dealing with a trustworthy and professionally respected institution.
