The ‘Eighth Wonder of the World’ exhibition in Serbia
Program
Exhibition from Crystal Valley heads to Belgrade
Glass, costume jewellery and fine jewellery from northern Bohemia will be showcased in Belgrade as part of the ‘Eighth Wonder of the World’ exhibition, which will introduce visitors to the unique story of Crystal Valley.
Human creativity, skill and courage have been integral to the craft of glassmaking for centuries. It is precisely thanks to these qualities that an extraordinary concentration of glassmakers, jewellers, designers, schools and companies has emerged in northern Bohemia, forming what is now known as Crystal Valley. Traditions stretching deep into history naturally blend here with modern design, innovation and the latest technologies.
The exhibition ‘The Eighth Wonder of the World’ will present the Crystal Valley as a vibrant and dynamic region where world-class artistic and functional glass, costume jewellery and fine jewellery – acclaimed worldwide – are created. Visitors will discover the mastery of handcrafted glassmaking, which was inscribed on UNESCO’s List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2023.
The exhibition in Belgrade will offer a glimpse into the exceptional blend of tradition, craftsmanship and creativity that has shaped the identity of northern Bohemia for generations and makes Crystal Valley one of the world’s most significant glass-making regions.
We warmly invite you to visit.
