Exhibition: Oli Staňková
Program
From 2 to 30 October 2026, the Craft Alley in Turnov will host an exhibition by glass artist Oli Staňková, marking her first solo exhibition in Bohemia.
A native of Turnov, she combines traditional Czech glassmaking with an original artistic approach. Her distinctive layered sgraffito technique involves applying several layers of colour, silver and 24-carat gold to the glass, which she then scrapes away by hand using porcupine quills. This results in exceptionally detailed images with striking depth and a unique texture.
Oli Staňková’s work has also been influenced by her many years’ experience in South Africa and Canada, as well as her collaborations with leading glass brands. She has received numerous awards for her work, including the Karel Ryback Grand Prize and an award in the ‘Craft and Art in Glass’ competition.
The exhibition offers a unique opportunity to discover the work of an artist who, after years spent working abroad, is symbolically returning to her native Turnov, where she now creates once more.
Come and discover the fascinating world of glass painting, in which light, craftsmanship and the artist’s imagination come together to form unique works of art.
