Opening Miloslav Janků
Program
Opening of the exhibition Miloslav Janků 110
Come and discover a neglected but immensely valuable part of the work of academic painter Miloslav Janků. The exhibition, marking the 110th anniversary of his birth, presents drawings, wash drawings, and watercolors—areas of his work that, alongside his glasswork, form a significant part of his artistic legacy. Janků's talent as a draftsman is particularly evident in these small works, often sketched in a matter of minutes.
Miloslav Janků was a painter, graphic artist, glass artist, and teacher. He studied painting under Prof. Juna at the glass school in Železný Brod, and from 1934 to 1939 he continued his studies at the UPŠ Prague in the studio of Prof. Kysela. In addition to his significant work in painting and graphic art, he excelled as an artist in the field of engraved, painted, and shaped glass, both in the glassworks and over the burner. From 1939 to 1951, he was a professor at the glass school in Železný Brod.
The exhibition runs until May 24, 2026.
